This guide has been written to describe how users can install and log into Cisco Jabber on an Android device.
Cisco Jabber is a unified communications application for University managed and personal devices. Use of Cisco Jabber will allow staff to send and receive phone calls, conduct IM chats to other Jabber users, and search the UoD staff directory.
Cisco Jabber will automatically connect to the University network and replicate the usage of a desk phone, this also includes hunt group and pickup group functionality.
Jabber is best used for users who often work away from their desk or home working.
Installing Jabber on an Android Device
1. You can download the Jabber application from the Google Play to your mobile device.

3. Login in using your University credentials (staffnumber@derby.ac.uk) and your usual University password) as illustrated below. Then tap Continue.
