The Issue:

Images (TIFF, GIF etc) do not open in eIntranet EDMS if using CHROME browser v42 (released 17 April 2014)

Google, at time of writing, plan eventually to completely remove support for JAVA in their Chrome browser. Until that time, users of Chrome v42 and subsequent versions will still have to manually enable JAVA and Silverlight.

 

Workaround

In your Chrome URL bar, enter:
chrome://flags/#enable-npapi 

2.Click the Enable link for the Enable NPAPI configuration option.
3.Click the Relaunch button that now appears at the bottom of the configuration page.

 

When you try again to view a document using the inline viewer in eIntranet, you may still see,

If you do, look at the Web Address line for the following:

Select Always allow plug-ins on dms.derby.ac.uk
