NOTE: This applies when deploying both SCCM applications and packages.
For each app, two collections should be created with the naming convention:
If creating an application:
- APP_Application Name - System - For required deployments
- APP_Application Name - Install - For advertised deployments
If creating a package:
- PKG_Application Name - System - For required deployments
- PKG_Application Name - System - For advertised deployments
NOTE: Collection updates should be scheduled for:
Name your collection as above and set the limiting collection to the smallest applicable collection. For example, if the deployment is for student machines only choose 'Student Labs - All'. If the deployment is for a single site, choose a more specific limiting collection:
Next, define any rules to add members to your collection. To reference a lab, use 'Include Collection' to add members from one of the pre-defined Active Directory collection.
NOTE: To add individual machines, use the pre-configured query rules via 'Add Rule > Query Rule > Import Query Statement'
