Once you have added a new Amino box into Infoblox and the firmware has been installed correctly, the box will then communicate with the Tripleplay server. If not done so already, consult the following two guides on this:
By default, this box will not pick up any signage content until any has been assigned to it, but first needs to be added into the Tripleplay hierarchy and labeled accordingly in TripleCare.
There are three main processes that need to be completed to ensure that a screen is available to view content. These are detailed below.
Click on the TripleCare icon on the main index page, and then go to 'Set Top Boxes' in the 'Client Management' drop down.
Identify the newly added Amino box from the list; identified by either the serial number or IP address that it was assigned in Infoblox. Note: If you do not see it in the list, confirm that the settings in Infoblox is correct and power-cycle the device a few times to ensure that it picks up the correct DHCP settings.
Once found in the list, click on the 'Update' button next to it. The following popup will appear; enter the location of the Amino box and a Description. You can also enter a Auxiliary ID, this can be used to indicate an additional name for the device or specify additional information. The more information you can include, the easier it is for future identification and diagnostics of devices. Press 'Submit' to save the changes. See below for an example.
Once this has been done, you will need to ensure that the display settings for this box are correct. To do this, navigate to Client Management > Configuration > Set Top Boxes.
From this, you will see a similar list as the one before; locate the same box in this list. Click on the 'Update' next to the box once again, this time you will have a different set of options. Ensure that the settings are configured as below, ensuring that the Browser Resolution is set to '720p' and the Video Output is set to 'Auto'. Click the 'Submit' button to save.
Go back to the main homepage by clicking on the Tripleplay logo at the top of the screen, from here click on 'TripleSign'.
Then click on the 'Hierarchy' tab in the top bar. This will show you all devices within the hierarchy, which are grouped into separate campuses / buildings to make it easier to find the device.
If the device has already been configured in TripleCare, you should see it appear on the left side as an 'unassigned device'; you can then drag this into the relevant location as necessary (however, be sure to edit the details to ensure that are correct as below). If the device does not fit in an existing location group, you can create a new one by clicking on the round '+' button next to an existing group to create one inside of it.
If the device doesn't appear in the left side, you can add it manually instead by clicking on the small monitor '+' icon, and the pop-up box below appears. Enter a 'friendly' name of the device and the MAC address; it will then automatically populate the location and IP address from TripleCare once you apply the changes.
On this screen, make sure that the Device Type is set to STB (Set Top Box) and the Geometry is set to '720p'.
In addition, you can also assign a User Group to a screen. Set the group to either 'Buxton' for North screens and 'MS Marketing' for screens to be managed by Derby marketing. You can leave this blank if you wish for a screen to not be managed by Marketing, if necessary.
Click 'Apply' to make the necessary changes.
The device is now ready to be added into a Display Group; it will only start to receive content once a Display Group has been applied.
A device group is a collection of devices that will all be assigned the same content. For example, all of the screens in the Atrium are in a group together and play the same content. This step is something that Marketing should be able to complete, however they may need assistance with this.
To add the device to a display group, click on the the 'Displays' tab at the top of the page; this will list all existing groups. You can either add the device to an existing group or to create a new one.
To add a new display group, click on the 'Add Display Group' button at the top of the page and specify an appropriate name. Ensure that the 'Geometry' is set here to 720p also; you can then add devices as below.
To add a device to an existing group, click on the 'Devices' button next to that group name. This will then bring up the hierarchy and allow you to select which devices you wish to add to this group (they turn orange when selected). Click 'Submit' at the top of the page to save these changes.
The device will now be included in this group and will begin to show any content that has been assigned to that Display Group.
