This guide is a simple step by step guide on how to use conferencing via Jabber and illustrates the benefits compared to using a Spider phone.

Step 1: Click on windows key and type in Jabber to Search for the application.
Step 2: Sign in to Cisco Jabber by entering your password to that you use to log on to the computer
Step 3: Search for conference now or type 591100
Step 4: Click on the Dial Icon in green and select either option work or Home.
Please bear in mind your meeting number will be 6 digits.
Step 5: Click on keyboard Icon highlighted in red to key in your meeting number which will be your full extension based on your site Derby 59XXXX, Derby 62XXXX, Buxton 33XXXX, Leek 32XXXX,
Step 6: For the host - Enter your meeting number followed by # and your pin code followed by # as prompted Skip to step 8.
Step 7: For the guest - Enter the meeting number provided to you followed by # and the attendee access code followed by # as prompted.
You are now in the conference and can wait for people to dial in. Alternatively, you can search for them and add them in using the search box highlighted in red.
Adding UoD staff to the conference call:
Step 8: Type the phone number or search using the name of the individual (if they are part of the organisation) by typing on the search box and click enter or click on the name as demonstrated on the image below.
Step 9: Notice there is a call to join label under the name meaning you have to click the call button for them to join the conference assuming they answer the call.
Step 10: if they have multiple phone numbers you will get an option to select which number you want to dial:
Step 11: Click on the Door with Arrow icon for them to join the call notice the status says waiting to join the call meaning other people on the conference are able to hear Andrew and you can ask them if they are ready to join. Notice the other users in the conference will be on hold until you click the button and then click resume.
Removing members from the conference call:
Step 12: Removing a member from the conference Right-click on the person or number and select remove.
