To enable you to securely change your password and access your account, the system holds security information solely for this purpose.
To allow access to your account away from the University, please ensure your security information is up to date by going to:
1. Staff iD https://staff.derby.ac.uk,
2. Click on your initials/photo (top right)
3. Select 'View account' and then 'Security Info'
You may have to verify your details to gain access.
For the best experience, we recommend that you enable the Microsoft Authenticator app. This can be set up for systems used outside of work, for example your personal email and social media accounts.
To set up the Authenticator app (or change to another method) as the default verification method on your account, follow the steps to gain access to your account above, then follow the steps below.
1. Click the Add method button,
2. Select Authenticator app (or the option of your choice);
3. Click Add and follow the instructions.

If you have access to your office phone, please add it, then you will always be able to sign-in to the system at work to update your details, for example if you change your mobile phone.
For additional options, you can also add your mobile phone to allow text messages and phone call access.
