The way you access Matlab on University lab computers has changed this year, as Mathworks have moved to an online-based account system for licencing.
You will now need a Mathsworks account to access the software.
When you load up Matlab 2024, you will see the following log-in screen appear, which will require your unimail email address - follow the steps below for details on how to login. (Please note; the first time you launch Matlab on any machine, there will be a delay in the login screen appearing. Please be patient)
New Accounts
If you do NOT have a Mathsworks account, follow these steps to create an account:
- Click on "Create one!" next to the "No Account?" text, which will take you to the new account screen:
- On this screen, you will need to enter your @unimail.derby.ac.uk email address (do not use a personal email), select the location as "United Kingdom" and enter your first and last name.
- On the next steps, you will be asked to set up your account, including your password - this should be unique, and not the same as any other accounts you have.
- Once set up, you can then log-in using these new details, and the application should then pick up a licence automatically, and you can then use Matlab 2024.
Existing Accounts
If you already have a Mathsworks account, follow these steps to log-in:
- Enter your @unimail.derby.ac.uk email address in the Sign-in screen (as shown), and choose Next.
- You can then enter your password that you had previously set up for your Mathsworks account, and you can then log in.
- Once logged in, the application should then pick up a licence automatically and you can then use Matlab 2024.
