Overview
This guide outlines the recent changes to how Unreal Engine, Twinmotion, and Reality Capture are launched and managed. The Epic Games Launcher is not required for these applications, and new desktop and start menu shortcuts have been created.
Key Changes
- Launching Applications:
- Unreal Engine, Twinmotion, and Reality Capture should now be launched directly from the desktop or start menu shortcuts.
- The Epic Games Launcher is not needed and should not be used to launch these applications.
- Epic Games Launcher:
- The launcher is not required for running Unreal Engine, Twinmotion, or Reality Capture.
- It has been hidden to streamline the user experience.
- Uproject Files:
- Uproject files are now associated with the installed version of Unreal Engine.
- Note that the Epic Games Launcher may not recognize these associations.
Unreal Engine Marketplace Assets
The Epic Games launcher should only be used for installing Unreal Engine Marketplace Assets. Once these have been installed to your Project, launch Unreal Engine from the Desktop or Start Menu shortcuts rather than from the Epic Games Launcher as outlined earlier in the Guide.
