Overview:
Using two monitors can help you work more efficiently by giving you extra screen space. Follow the steps below to set up and configure dual monitors on your Windows 11 device.
Steps:
Check Connections
Make sure both monitors are powered on.
Check that each display cable (HDMI, DisplayPort, or VGA) is securely connected to your computer and monitor.
If your device has multiple display ports, try another port if the monitor isn’t detected.
Detect the Displays
Right-click the desktop and select Display settings.
If both screens aren’t showing, scroll down and select Detect.
Choose Display Mode
Press Windows key + P to open the display options.
Select one of the following:
PC screen only – use one display.
Duplicate – show the same screen on both monitors.
Extend – use both screens as one large workspace (recommended).
Second screen only – use only the second display.
Arrange Your Displays
In Display settings, click and drag the monitor icons to match how your screens are physically arranged (for example, side-by-side or stacked).
Select Apply to save changes.
Adjust Scaling and Resolution
In Display settings, select each monitor and adjust Scale and Display resolution as needed for comfortable viewing.
The recommended settings usually provide the best results.
Tip:
If your mouse moves in the wrong direction between screens, swap their positions in the Display settings by dragging one monitor icon to the opposite side.
