Mersive Solstice Pod Connect without Cables to Display Screens

Mersive Solstice Pods allow you to cast without cables to the display screen or projector in the room. 

Instructions appear on the display to tell you how to connect.  You can share to the screen from a laptop, IOS or Android device.

 

Quick start instructions:

On a Windows device use Windows & K to connect to the Solstice pod

  • Select the pod name from the list that appears on your laptop
  • You will be prompted for the code which will be displayed on the screen 
  • Enter the 4 digit code shown on the Display screen
  • Share your desktop or window to the Display 
  • Don't forget to Disconnect from the Solstice Pod before you leave the room!

 

On an Android or IOS device:

Download the Mersive app from the App store and use the app to connect

TIP:  two IP addresses appear on the screen. If you have a managed staff laptop use the 'Internal' IP address. All other devices need to use the 'UniIOT' address.

  • Enter the 4 digit code shown on the Display screen
  • Share your desktop or window to the Display 
  • Don't forget to Disconnect from the Solstice Pod before you leave the room!

 

How to Mirror Your macOS Device Screen Using Screen Mirroring

  1. Connect the macOS device to the Eduroam WiFi network, Uni Student does not work with Solstice.
  2. Load the Solstice app and connect to the pod in the solstice app using the instructions shown on the pod (IP address and code prompt)
  3. From the top menu bar, either select the AirPlay icon or open the Control Panel from the top bar and select Screen Mirroring. Then select the desired Solstice display.
  4. A prompt for a code will pop up, enter the 4-digit screen key visible on the Solstice display. Select mirror desktop or extended display.
  5. To stop mirroring your screen to the display, select either the AirPlay icon or Control Panel > Screen Mirroring from the menu bar. This shows the active AirPlay connection. Select the name of the Solstice display to disconnect.

 

Using the Mersive Solstice app

In Classrooms the Mersive Solstice app is installed on the PC. 

Staff laptops can install the app from Company Portal.

 

  • Open the Mersive Solstice app
  • Enter the IP address shown on the Display screen in the box at the top of the app - 

    • Managed staff laptops: use the 'Internal' IP address to connect

      (Tip: If there is no 'Internal' IP Address shown, in these rooms staff managed laptops need to connect via Windows & K, not via the app)

    • All other laptops and mobiile device: use the 'UniIOT' address to connect

  • Don't forget to Disconnect from the Solstice Pod before you leave the room!

     

Moderation of content shared to the screen

Staff can chose to moderate who connects in the room, but to use moderation you will need to open the Mersive Solstice app:

  • Follow the instructions above to connect to the screen via the mersive Solstice app
  • Select the Moderate tab to control who else can share to the screen during your session
  • Don't forget to Disconnect from the Solstice Pod before you leave the room!
