Please follow the steps outlined in this short guide which will help you connect to our public Wi-Fi service for visitors and guests: _TheCloud provided by Sky.
Once registered here or elsewhere, you will be able to automatically connect whenever you visit anywhere else that uses _TheCloud Wi-Fi too.
Troubleshoot your connection to _TheCloud
Who can use _TheCloud?
This is a free Wi-Fi network available for all visitors to any of our University of Derby campuses, or Derby Theatre.
Students and staff should select eduroam for fast, free secure Wi-Fi on campus.
Get connected to _TheCloud:
Step 1:
On your laptop, tablet, smart phone or other mobile device, navigate to your wireless settings area and select to join the wireless network: _TheCloud.
Step 2:
Once you have selected to join _TheCloud your device will automatically open a page similar to the illustration below.
You can log in with existing _TheCloud credentials if you have registered elsewhere before.
To register for the first time click the 'Create Account' button and follow the next steps.
Step 3:
After clicking on 'Create Account' you will need to enter some information in order for Sky to create your account. Questions with an asterisk are required, all others are optional.
Click 'Continue'.
Step 4:
The last piece of information required to create the account is to enter an email address you wish to use for this account along with a password.
Enter this information and click the 'Continue' button.
Step 5:
You will need to agree to the Sky Wi-Fi terms and conditions along with their privacy notice.
By clicking 'Continue' you are accepting the terms and you will be connected to the public Wi-Fi.
That's it! You are now connected
You can launch your web browser or any other applications and begin using the wireless network.
