Good news! You will be able to access your Uni Microsoft 365 account for 3 months after you have been awarded.
Keeping your files, images and documents
If you wish to keep copies of any of your OneDrive files or other Microsoft 365 content, be sure to log in to your University of Derby Microsoft 365 account and copy them to an appropriate storage solution of your choice, before your account is deactivated.
Go to office.com and sign in with your Uni account details:
[Studentnumber]@unimail.derby.ac.uk and usual Uni password.
You can transfer files to USB storage or a hard drive, however we recommend that you use cloud storage option if you are able to. The benefit of cloud storage is that if you lose your device, you don't lose your files too.
There are lots of free and paid-for public cloud storage options that you can subscribe to. The University is not affiliated with any companies offering systems for personal use after you graduate, but to get you started, here are a few options you can consider.
Microsoft offer OneDrive for personal use (you get 5GB for free if you register with Microsoft), and other examples include Google Drive, iCloud, or Dropbox who offer similar services.
Where you move your files to is your choice but you'll need to make sure that you register with a different email address from your Unimail, as this is part of your University Microsoft 365 account too.
Once your Uni account has been deactivated, we won’t be able to reactivate it, so make sure you take action in good time.
