This guide will go through how you can send IT Services a copy of an email so they can investigate the issue.
Note: Please Do Not forward the message to us, the guide below shows how the send the message by an attachment.
To send an email on to IT services so we can analyse for troubleshooting purposes or to block spam messages, please follow the steps below.
From the Outlook desktop client
1. Open the email in a 'pop out' window (double click it);
2. Select File > Save As and save to a folder on your device
3. Go to the email from the IT Service Centre that requested the email file and select reply and attach the email in there, or visit https://itservicecentre.derby.ac.uk/hc/en-us/requests/new , fill out the form and attach the file in the 'Attachment' section at the bottom and click Submit
5. Delete the email from the folder you saved it to.
From Outlook Online
Please follow the steps below that shows how to send a copy of an email from Outlook online (via your web browser).
1. Find the email in the list and right click it
2. Select Save as
3. Save the email to a location of your choice
4. Visit https://itservicecentre.derby.ac.uk/hc/en-us/requests/new and complete the form. At the bottom of the form is an area to attach files. Click Add file and navigate to the folder where you saved the email or drag it into the Attachments box.
5. Click Submit to send us the email.
