Connect to Eduroam on Android (Including Google Pixel and ChromeBook devices)

Getting connected

To connect to Eduroam manually, please see the following steps:

1. Go to Settings;
2. For some Android devices, go to Network & Internet. Step 2 may not apply to all Android devices;
3. Select Wi-Fi;
4. Select Eduroam, then set the following details:
5. EAP method: PEAP
6. Phase 2 auth: MSCHAPV2
7. CA Certificate: Use system certificate & enter the Domain: derby.ac.uk
   On Pixel Devices/ Android 14:  Set CA Certificate to Trust on First use, or on older devices select: do not validate. The Anonymous Identity box needs to be blank.
8. Enter your University username in the
   following format:
   Staff: username@derby.ac.uk
   Student: student number@unimail.derby.ac.uk
9. Enter your University Password;
10. Select Connect.

You should now be connected to Eduroam.

If you have any issues connecting to the network, you may need to forget the existing Eduroam wireless profile before re-connecting.

To forget the Eduroam wireless profile:

1. Go to settings on your device;
2. For some Android devices, go to Network & Internet. Step 2 may not apply to all Android devices;
3. Go to Wi-Fi;
4. Select and hold eduroam
5. Select Forget Network.
6. Please also forget the following networks if listed: The Cloud, Uniguest and Unistaff
7.  Try reconnecting to Eduroam

If the above steps do not work, you may need to remove saved credentials from your phone. To do so:

1. Go to settings on your device;
2. Go to Security;
3. Select Clear Credentials;
4. You may be prompted to type in your pass-code.
