If you have forgotten your password
Staff and Students with a University email address, click here (opens in a new tab).
Instructions
1. Enter your username in the following formats:
Students - Enter your student number followed by @unimail.derby.ac.uk
Staff - Enter your login username followed by @derby.ac.uk or @blc.ac.uk
2. Enter the characters in the picture;
3. Click Next;
4. Ensure that I've forgotten my password is selected and click Next;
5. Choose your preferred communication method so a code can be sent for verification;
6. Retrieve the verification code from either your email, text, or phone call and enter this into the text box on screen;
7. Enter a new password.

If you know your current password and need to change it
Staff and Students with a University email address, click here
Instructions
1. The link above will send you to a Microsoft login page, enter the following details into the email address or phone number text box:
Students - Enter your student number followed by @unimail.derby.ac.uk
Staff - Enter your login username followed by @derby.ac.uk or @blc.ac.uk
2. The page will redirect to a university login page. Enter your username and current password;
3. Enter your old password, set and confirm your new password (See this guide that shows the password complexity requirements);
4. Click Submit;
5. If you are signed into a staff or student computer, please log out and back into Windows so your new password is fully synchronised.

Change password when already signed into Office 365
Staff and Students with a University email address
1. Sign into your Office 365 account using your existing password;
2. Click on your profile on the upper right side, and click My account;
3. Click Manage security & privacy in the Security & privacy section;
4. Select Password;
5. Enter your old password, set and confirm your new password;
6. Click Submit;
7. If you are signed into a staff or student computer, please log out and back into Windows so your new password is fully synchronised.
Off site staff and staff with mentor accounts
For staff who use a MENTxxxx or OSxxxx type of account
Reset Password and Change Password, click here.
Instructions
To change your password.
1. Enter your username;
2. Click Next;
3. Select Manage my password;
4. Click Next;
5. Enter and confirm a new password following the password policy guidelines;
6. Click Next;
7. Your password has now been changed.
If you forgot your password
1. Enter your username;
2. Click Next;
3. Select Forgot My Password;
4. Enter the characters in the picture;
5. Answer the two security questions;
6. Click Next;
7. Enter a new password following the password policy guidelines.
